Chocolate Chip Blondies

1¾ cups flour
¾ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1½ sticks butter, melted and slightly cooled
½ cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips (or whatever flavors you like)
½ cup walnuts
½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
Coarse sea salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 350.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Add flour mixture and fold until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips, nuts and coconut.

Spread dough evenly into 9×13 pan (If making a half recipe, use 8×8 pan and bake 20 minutes). Sprinkle with salt if desired. Bake for about 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. The bars will be soft but will set once cooled.

Allow to cool in the pan.
